Our Hiring Process
At Verma Research Capital, talent is the most important driver of long-term success. Just as our investment strategies are built on precision, discipline, and innovation, our hiring process identifies people who embody these qualities. We don’t fixate on traditional credentials—we look for raw ability, intellectual curiosity, and the entrepreneurial spirit to build something extraordinary.
We also want to be clear: there is no requirement for fancy Financial Engineering or Quantitative degrees or prestigious titles. What matters to us is passion, energy, and capability. Anyone who believes they have the drive to excel can apply, and every candidate is given the chance to go through five rounds of evaluation to demonstrate their skills.
Our assessment is rigorous and multi-dimensional:
Memory & Cognitive Ability: Short- and long-term recall, problem-solving under pressure, and decision quality in fast-moving scenarios.
Mathematical Foundations: Calculus, probability, combinatorics, linear algebra, statistics—the backbone of quantitative research and trading.
Financial Knowledge: Derivatives, pricing models, computational finance, portfolio theory—practical understanding over just financial theory.
Coding Proficiency: Python and/or C++ for research pipelines, Machine Learning, Backtesting, and low-latency systems.
Trading Intuition: Probabilistic thinking, creativity in strategy design, and clear reasoning about risk/reward.
What sets VRC apart is our culture of equal opportunity and entrepreneurship. Every team member—regardless of background—can propose ideas and own their implementation. We foster a learning-driven environment where collaboration, experimentation, and continuous growth are encouraged. Innovation isn’t confined to leadership; it’s woven into the fabric of the firm.
If this sounds like you, send your resume to divyanshu@vermaresearch.com. We hire not just for what you know today, but for your potential to grow, adapt, and lead tomorrow. Our process is demanding because our mission is ambitious—to build a world-class hedge fund that thrives on the strength of its people.
